I started my career crunching numbers as an Internal Auditor in Manchester. After passing two exams in six months, I realised it just wasn’t for me. Around the same time, I was devouring books by people like David Ogilvy and John Hegarty, and that’s when I found my real passion: advertising, and more specifically, Account Management. I also had a clear ambition to one day do it in one of my favourite cities, Amsterdam.
When my contract ended, I picked up the phone and started calling every UK agency I could think of, hunting for an internship. Luck was on my side and gyro Manchester gave me my first break. That opportunity opened the door to the industry, and before long I joined McCann Manchester as an Account Executive working on the Aldi account. I made it my mission to absorb everything I could, and within a year completed the IPA Commercial Certificate, the Legal & Regulatory Certificate, and the IPA Foundation Certificate.
In 2017, I moved to London to join JWT, where I learned the ropes under the guidance of Chiara Capitanio. I worked on the Vype brand, and despite the tight restrictions that come with vaping, I gained invaluable experience in creative origination and collaboration. Alongside Vype, I also worked on brands including Treasury Wine Estates and BT Sport. During this period, I completed my IPA Advanced Certificate and earned my MIPA accreditation, with huge thanks to the teams who supported me along the way.
Next came the dream move to Amsterdam, where I worked on adidas across newsroom and local paid media campaigns. I later joined MediaMonks, leading accounts for brands such as Miele and Red Bull. After a short stint at 180 Amsterdam working across Pepsi Planet Positive, Mirinda, the Lays UEFA Champions League partnership, and Dubai Airports, I moved into a Client Director role at Bulletproof. There, I partnered with brands including FrieslandCampina, Icebreaker, Booking.com, MyProtein, Mashreq Bank, and East Africa Breweries. Today, I work as a Business Integration and Marketing Operations Lead at Nike, focusing on operational scale, process building, and optimising workflows and organisational structures.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me behind a camera, exploring storytelling through photography, or playing guitar and piano. My heroes are a mixed bag of legends, including Michael Schumacher, Sir Alex Ferguson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, David Ogilvy, Sir Don McCullin, and Mary Wells Lawrence. I love meeting new people, socialising, and cycling around Amsterdam, always on the lookout for new places to discover.
